Engine sneezes on start, runs for a few on idle, then shuts off

I understand, the carb is clean though when I went to prime the bulb, I did notice that I got some gas on my hands. Is it possible do you think that air is making its way in and starving the engine? What else could I check?

Engine sneezes on start, runs for a few on idle, then shuts off

Ya I agree with you on that but I’m saying after disconnecting the fuel line the mixture seems pretty rich, not from how it’s running which I agree does seem kind of lean

Engine sneezes on start, runs for a few on idle, then shuts off

Ok so I have a 1983 suzuki dt85 2 stroke. It starts easy now and when it’s running it sounds like it’s running/idling decent. However after a few min (5-10) at idle it will shut off after a hard shake and then sneeze when starts back up, then repeats this process. Also when I look at the bucket...

Ok ya it’s just confusing because I turn the key and the starter works but he’s got a yellow wire labeled solenoid that I know was hooked to the solenoid part of the ignition switch on the last one that worked.

I don’t own a spark plug tester but when I turn the key, the starter raises and spins the fly wheel. Is there a wire I should be looking for, he has one that is labeled selenium that was not plugged in I’m not sure if that’s it

Alright so I had someone come look at it. There’s nothing coming from the selenoid and thignition. He said the writes are super old and damaged. Recommended getting a rewire. He found some wires looked good but had small shorts in them

Only wire that appears to be getting any voltage is the choke one

    Burnt fuel pooling?

Ok so I covered it, it still has a leak at the bottom of the carb. Any idea what it is? Stuck float or needle? Any good articles or step by steps on how to clean this?
