    Shifting issue with Johnson Evinrude 40 HP 70s

    My gear cable slipped from the hand lever. After putting it back together, changing gear became so hard. Even changing gear (forward/Neutral/Bakward) by hand from the motor requires tons of push. I would appreciate if someone could tell me what could be wrong. Thanks
