    Thanks. I think that a lot of these modern gas caps are made for plastic cans that have threads to screw the cap on. The metal cans just had angled fins for a quick "lock" of the cap.

    Agreed. Lund is a quality brand just like the others. Find a boat with your desired features and then judge the current condition of the boat. Motors do tend to have good and bad years though, so that might be a better question depending on the brand and the year.
