    SEI OUTDRIVE

Is the drive new to you? Did the vibration just develop with the installation of the SEI? Are you using same prop? Have you trimmed up to look at it?

Centering boat on trailer (solo) without trailer guides? or DIY guide advice

I had an 18' bowrider that would rarely ever load right. Bunks were not adjustable. Finally just learned to live with it. Sometimes after getting home I would take a floor jack and a 2x4 and jack up the low side and shove from the other side to get it straightened up. Sounds nuts I know but...

Water leak to the bilge from transom please help

From the looks of the pic it's a constant flow. Agree that the only way to use the boat the rest of the season is to trailer it. Even then, as Scott says, double check that your water extraction system, i.e. bilge pump, battery, etc., is running top notch. I would also carry a hand held...

2002 Mercruiser 5.0 MPI rich Condition

The cap & rotor are an easy tune up for less than $100. I buy NAPA ECH RR207 cap $65 and ECH RR256 rotor $20. Requires torx bits T15 and T20. Easy job. Just don't get the plug wires screwed up.

Replace cap & rotor. The cap is a known problem maker.

    Winterize

Trust but verify. I always follow up behind any contractors work the best I can. If I have the oil changed in a vehicle I always check it afterwards. Case in point: I had new HVACS installed at the house. The basement one is high efficiency meaning it has the PVC pipes running outdoors...

    '67 Holiday 18' - Make it Usable

A quick internet search of your motor show rpm range to be 4800-5300. With your anticipated load of 4 buddies on board you want that zuke turning around 5300 when lightly loaded. That should put you into the sweet spot when fully loaded. A tach is essential when trying to dial in a prop...

    Bellow replacement job

Inspect both trim puck wires closely and consider replacing both. They're not that pricey. I made the mistake of not doing this when my bellows were replaced and now I'm nursing them through with liquid electrical tape

    2003 5.0 MPI problems

Replace distributer cap as mentioned. It's easy. Replace IAC muffler, the small piece of foam (white when new, may be black if old) under the flame arrestor. May not be your issue but these are easy tune ups that you can eliminate. FWIW part #2 (check valve assembly) in the drawing for your...

Tige 2100 jumping out of water

Sounds like porpoising. Would recommend getting your trim tab system back in working order. This is most likely the cause. That's why they are there to begin with. What system does it have? Are both not working?

    Stingray 208cr trimtabs question

Hard to exactly tell but looks like a strange install. It looks like the gas spring is mounted on a sponson that protrudes outward. The spring should be mounted on the same plane as the tab. Maybe it could work with the right planning.

    Steel Caps or Bearing Buddys?

If you're the type that even with BBs you will re-pack anyway, stick with the caps. Caps are light thin metal that does not protrude outward thus they tend to stay attached. BBs do not like to be removed. Every time you do so it slops our the hub bore and you will start loosing them. If you...

Alpha 2 not coming out of gear after new interrupt switch.

Went to the boat last night. Right away I could see the plunger was a good bit off center to the V notch. Per manual 14 I verified the lower cable was at the bottom of the slot. Measured the travel of the upper cable per Chris’s video. Measured 3 1/8”, i.e. within specifications. Removed the new...

Alpha 2 not coming out of gear after new interrupt switch.

Thanks Chris. I came across that also. I'm planning on getting to the boat tomorrow to look into it.
