    Mercury 110 9.8hp

Looks like the red button is the kill button. Purpose is to ground out (kill) the triggers. It takes a ground connection, through the switch, to the same point on the ignition system as the wire (orange in the photo?) that's connected to the red button "I would surmise". Somewhere on a nice...

    G3 Boat

I can help you with the crack. Get a reasonably sized drill bit, maybe 3/8" in diameter and a smaller bit...maybe 1/8" and several sizes in-between. At the point where the crack stops, insert the center of the small bit and carefully drill out the material.......you want to be careful as too...

JimS123....Idle Curiosity about one of your rigs

Jim, I decided to scan your boat list this AM and have a curiosity: Your 2017 15' with a 60 CT Merc......Just curious as to what the CT gets you that the standard LU doesn't on that combination. Thanks, Mark

Looks like you did a good job fixing your cooling system.

    Boat transport

Last time I saw a sailboat on a trailer, allowing for the permanent positioned keel, made for a tall, top-heavy load. I can understand the high cost. Going to bet it required certain routes and arrangements with local utility departments to account for sloping terrain and low hanging utility...

2003 Mercury 200hp Saltwater edition 2 cycle, can the oiler be deleted?

Along the same lines, TC-W3 oil is made for "Two Cycle - Watercraft, 3rd iteration (upgrade)". Regular "non-rated as such" oil is made for two cycle (stroke in today's terms) engines like you would use on your "weed eater" or "chain saw". Two completely different requirements for an oil's...

2003 Mercury 200hp Saltwater edition 2 cycle, can the oiler be deleted?

I have had the same type of OEM oiler on 90 and 115 HP Mercs. Only difference is the posted range for these engines is 90 at idle to 50 at WOT. The gears in lower powered engines were made of Phenolic, a fabric reinforced material with an epoxy binder. As I recall, the 300 cubic inch Ford I6...

    Johnson 25 Prop size

I totally agree with what's shown in the picture as potentially being your problem. Let's assume that the mechanic that tested the engine did a thorough job and it runs fine. Let's say that the prop is original. Let's say that you have fresh 50:1 gas-oil mix in your fuel tank. As "Airshot"...

‘91 merc 60hp hitting wot rpm??

https://www.go-fast.com/Knowledge-base/What-is-Prop-Slip/Prop-slip-calculator: Plugging in 1.64 gear ratio 13P prop 4500 RPM Zero slip = 34 MPH Add estimated 15% slip considering boat and load: 29 MPH Changing pitch to 11: 27 MPH with same slip at 5000 if engine came up to that RPM 30 MPH...

    Tiny boat performance help

Well I had a 10' Lowe (brand) Lake John for a lotta years. Gave it to the crew (as a thank you as they needed one)nm that built my shop when I moved out of town to the country....Muskogee, Ok. folks and great workers....... The Lake John was wider and had deeper sides than normal Johns of 10'...

    Tiny boat performance help

What do you mean "transom has some negative angle"? If the top of the transom tilts back slightly, that's normal. That tilt would be beneficial to any tilt pin adjustment. If it's toward the boat, most unusual, then you will certainly need to move the tilt pin farther out.....maybe all the way...

Mercury Tempest, Turning Point Mach 3 or Michigan Wheel Apollo?

Yes sir I totally agree. When I was a kid we had a 10 HP engine and rented 14' skiffs at the marina. We took a stick along with us and went out in the bay. When we got to the fishing grounds we would idle along and with a stick "sound" the bottom. When the mud changed to a clanging noise and...

Should I change prop pitch/ go to stainless.

What are you trying to achieve with a jack plate? The amount of hull in the water, and hull type varies the "drag" on the prop's ability to propel the boat. The less hull in the water the faster you go with the same engine and prop. Just because you have a 19" pitch, the characteristics of the...

    22' pontoon prop question.

Turning Point, Hustler come with all the amenities of upper class SS props except for their high grade aluminum construction that causes the blades to be thicker than SS blades. One of the amenities is prop blade tip cupping. Cupping helps the prop to grab water better and reduces slipping...

    22' pontoon prop question.

He's 200 RPM above the limiter.......it's 5250 and Faztbullet said that if you disable it and go over that speed with those engines expect piston problems. I just sold my 2002 115 so I know......about the limitation, not that I had problems. My engine pushed my 2002 17.5' Crestliner Fish Hawk...

    Family of 5, 19ft or 21ft?

"I had a SeaRay 19 footer which handled the waves real well, as the hull was really good and it had a 4.3LX so the weight was on my side. " Coworker had a 19' Sea Ray with a 165 I6. That was probably the finest boat I ever entered. The deepV hull was (as you say), great on our windblown lakes...
