Verify outdrive lube is clean without totally dumping it?

So I barely used the boat this season, like to the point I didn't use a full tank of gas. I'm about to winterize and seems like a waste to dump all the gear lube that was barely used which I replaced last fall. Having any water in there is a big no no since the boat will see -40C temperatures...

Idle screw causing electric choke to hang open after cool down

Oh boy don't I look silly. I've been looking at it next day and was like why the heck isn't it closed lol but yeah it closes itself on next prime. 😂

Idle screw causing electric choke to hang open after cool down

Hi guys, I followed the popular youtube video to adjust the linkage cables, all good. But, I've been noticing that the electric choke on my 4.3 tends to stay open after the engine cools down. This looks to be caused by the idle screw putting too much pressure on the "lobe" (not sure what that...

    Diagnosing non working depth sounder

Looks like these things used a very specific frequency so unless I can find a good used gauge or transducer (of broken) its a no go and entire setup has to be replaced.

    Diagnosing non working depth sounder

Tried that yesterday, nothing changes, still flashes 0.5ft as if nothing happened.

    Diagnosing non working depth sounder

I have a Lowrance 3500 depth sounder on my 2000 rinker bowrider. It just flashes 0.5ft all the time, it never worked since I got this boat, be it on trailer or in the water. The transducer is mounted under the engine, not looking forward to touching it, hard to see how wiring could be damaged...

    Ground noise after amp install

OK so I hooked up a relay for the switched 12V and noise was still there, I then ran the constant from the deck to the amps 12V input, which comes from battery, and boom noise is gone. Have not checked with engine running but the blower noise is gone. So yeah, combination of a relay and...

    Ground noise after amp install

Was thinking about doing that since its the last part thats still feed from the original boat wiring. I have a relay laying around maybe I'll give it a shot, a little skeptical but nothing else to do.

    Ground noise after amp install

Engine not running, that was the blower being switched on/off/on/off.

    Ground noise after amp install

I tried 3 different sets of RCA cables.

    Ground noise after amp install

Screw it, don't think there's anything else I can do thats simple like adding a dedicated battery, ordered a ground loop isolator.

    Ground noise after amp install

OK so new season and I thought I would look into this again while I have the boat on the driveway. I ran a dedicated ground wire from the battery to the head unit, the amp already has dedicated cables from the battery for both ground and power, and still the noise is there when blower is ON...

Cover waterproofer that wont ooze oily residue

Here is how the waterproofer makes my boat look all summer. It's hard to get off, basically I need wipe it with acetone or buff it with compound.

Cover waterproofer that wont ooze oily residue

Oh could be, so if it's clean it wouldn't be oozing the oils from the waterproofer? It "looked" clean. Whats a good way to clean it short of a washing machine?

Cover waterproofer that wont ooze oily residue

So last season I used Star Brite 081900NC waterproofing for my boats cover. Wasn't happy with it because the entire season it was oozing this oily residue onto the sides of the hull that were hard to clean off. It seems to have good reviews so not sure why it was doing it but I'd rather not...

    Small inline exhaust resonator?

There's space inside the hull for the size I mentioned. Do those inserts I see around like cones with holes in them do anything? I'd be happy with even couple dB drop.

    Small inline exhaust resonator?

Yes I believe moving this post here was not correct, it was a general exhaust question, I should not have mentioned it's for a jetski. I'm looking for a short 10-12" inline resonator that can handle wet applications like the aluminum Vibrant 12903 which is most likely for road cars. Not sue if...

    Small inline exhaust resonator?

Ahh why did you guys move my post here. This is not really a jetski related question and more general wet exhaust resonator stuff, it won't get any useful eyeballs here.
