    Volvo Penta SX-M Hello! Missed this when buying the boat and the “inspection” I got turned out to be worthless. Trying to figure out how log of deal this crack is. I’ve taken boat out several times and haven’t noticed it getting worse…yet. Any insight is appreciated!

    I’m wondering if I should be using this in addition to muffs when running the motor out of the water but (clearly) don’t have a clue! I also will have to eventually figure out HOW to winterizing in about a month or 2, but maybe one problem at a time. Thanks for any help.

    These are the numbers on the engine cover sticker. 4.3 GL-D 3869251 4012141889 It has a holly carb. I’m assuming some hoses are supposed to connected to this flame arrestor but none are. Bought it used, motor was supposedly swapped, and I don’t know nearly enough…. sigh Any ideas? Thank...

    Anyone know what this female plug on the radio head unit is for?

    Trying to figure out what the small female plug with the white end is for. the faceplate says it’s a kenwood kdc-225mr , I looked up the manual for that and it doesn’t show it.     Ooof, actually I think I had it wrong and maybe some stuff is wired incorrectly. The manual online said it has a 3 position switch but this is definitely a 4 position switch. So the second position is the off position. There’s no difference in what works with it on accessory or off so I just got...

    Tried that, it was completely stuck before I did that. Now it goes in and out pretty easily… as long as it’s in the on position.

    Hello, i can’t remove the key unless it’s in the on position. I read elsewhere that this should be able to be fixed by adjusting something on the back to get the lock lined up correctly. Looking at my ignition, I don’t see any way I could do that. Do I just need to replace it? Or am I missing...

    Trim keeps sometimes keeps going down after hitting the button.

    I did check the 2 relays that are on the trim hydraulic pump thing (I’m sure that’s not what it’s called) and found one thats got a melted plastic bubble on its side. I’ll get a meter and check it but I assume it’s bad. Thanks for easing my fears on hooking those up wrong and letting me know...

    Thanks for your help on another issue Scott! Haven’t gone to the store and picked up a multimeter yet but I think I found at least part of the problem. Can’t get any pictures to upload but I’ve got a relay with a pretty good bubble of melted plastic coming out of its side in my hand at the moment.

    Hello! 2004 Regal 1800 I/o with Volvo Penta 4.3 GL and Volvo Penta SX drive. Sometimes after adjusting the trim down, it just keeps on going. It stops only if I start pressing it it up, but even then, it doesn’t go up, it just stays stopped and as soon as stop pressing up, it starts going down...

    It’s stuck! Might have messed up trying to figure out why it has trouble getting in/out of neutral.

    I had my neighbor move the cable to where it’s at a little bit of an angle while I tried to shift it and the problem came right back. So I think it is the cable. Something is binding up inside when it’s not perfectly straight. He also noticed some fun tidbits that I didn’t, look at the picture...

    Well I’m glad you said that, cause now that it’s disconnected, it does move pretty well. There a little bit of rust on it and some water was coming out of the cable. Now im not sure how smooth the linkage on the drive actually is. I’ll see if I can post a video

    I don’t know if I did at the right time. I just disconnected the drive end and made sure all of that linkage moved freely, which it does. The So I was going to go ahead and replace the cable.
