Do not run a motor that has a problem, fix it properly or you may end up with major repairs

OK gentlemen,

I have looked at the ISC operate and its operation looks extremely smooth.

So I am not confident this is the issue,
So why cant these be tested?

ISC valves on cars operate on cars the same way? 6 pins should show different ohm values when tested against one another.

Somebody has gotta know how to test these things.

Here is a drop box link to a photo of how is tested this ISC valve. Voltmeter set to test ohms. I cannot seem to find the proper way to post photos from my phone.

It would be fantastic if someone could test a new or know good ISC to confirm my findings.

for some reason the bottom of the photo got cut of. So 5 to 6pins = 30.3

Bump.

Nobody with a known working ISC that can ohm the pins to verify?

Alright, rough idle is no longer an issue.

Tachometer still is NOT working.

NEW rectifier installed and makes no difference, new battery makes no difference!

My NEW question is what should the voltage be from the sending wire to the tach (grey wire)? 12v? 3.5v?

Rodbolt no longer around?

Well fellas I am at a loss and I assume y'all are too.

As far as most saying that tach signal comes from the ecm and has nothing to do with the charging system, I say you are wrong.

My tach is intermittent at best but when the rectifier is disconnected the tach doesnt not work at all.

Have a new 2017 Yamaha F50LHB tiller steer outboard. Dealership no help for anything, and supplied a new command link round multi task tachometer. Part # is 6Y8-8250T-20-00 . They included wire harnesses, some conversion connectors etc , saying it is all I need to install. But no instructions or wiring diagram. Does anyone know where or how to get a wiring diagram for the install? Thank you. miniron

i've been looking for the article - but from what i have read (if i find it i will post) the Tach's on yamaha's don't get their RPM info form the stator/rectifier like other engines. They have a specific sender for it which is a solid dark green wire. The Grey and Black are your ground and 12v.
