03 merc 225 stk. aka yamaha f225

I was performing my 100 hr. service did all lube points, remove prop to do prop shaft, put the lube gun to fitting for prop shaft bearing and would not take grease. I remove grease fitting and there was just a hole with grease no where to go. It is in the owner's manual as a lube point, should the fitting be there or not???

all that fitting does is to try to make sure that oneday when the carrier has to come out it will.
has noting to do with the prop,
