03 Yamaha 9.9 idle problem

Bought this motor used , it only was used a couple of times and sat for a long time. the main jet was clogged. cleaned it and it ran like new . now it doesnt want to stay on when idling. even if u give it gas it just cuts off unless you idle it high. other than that it runs great while going wide open and what not. took the carb back apart and its spotless. put new plugs in it too..any suggestions

remove the carb,dissasemble it,remove the pilot fuel jet, carfully claen the jet AND all the pilot ful passages and reassemble.
the 03 model has a pilot mixture screw but its covered by a brass plug.
the clean the passages you have to drill,screw in a self tapping screw and remove the plug to access the mixture screw.
you will break through the plug with the drill bit and alter the screw setting.
try 2.5 turns out from lightly seated on reassembly.
