No get a volt meter and find out where you have 12 vac as outlined. Based on what you say in start you will have 12 v on positive terminal of the coil, hence the spark and running. In run you are losing it hence why it dies. It’s between the key switch and coil you are loosing 12 v . Start at the key or the coil doesn’t matter you have to work back from those two points.could it be bad ignition coil. if the coil was bad would it run in start position.
s that big plug on the wire harness. it was loose..appreciate all the help and I hope someone with the same issue reads this and it helps them..I'm hooking up right now and getting on the waterrun the tahoe on the hose before leaving home, run fine. got to lake will not start. if heavy throttle and key in starting position it acts like it wants to run. as soon as I let key go it just turns over. really..run fine 15 minutes later nothing. any ldeas??
