#1 and #4 loosing spark under WOT

Reciently rebuilt my motor, carbs, fuel pump diagphram, etc. replace both CDI boxes, had a intermittent miss at idle. well it idles great. but as soon as i go to full throttle, it looses spark on #1 and #4. Weard i double checked the wiring of the new CDI boxes.

Im thinking stator, or trigger cannot find anything similar on internet??

Helps if you note the horsepower and year. Anyways, check the trigger and stator wires where they come out from under the flywheel. When you move the throttle lever, it moves the trigger assy. and the wires. The wires may have a bare spot on the insulation from rubbing against the flywheel. Only shorts out to the block when the throttle is in a certain position.

Oops. Im workin on the family boat its a 89 bayliner 1950 capri cuddy, wit.h a 125 force outboard. Its got the oe stator and trigger, it has plastic insulation arount the harness where you sugjested. Im waiting on a up dated trigger and stator. I will keep u up to date. Thanks for the reply
