10"x11 Power Tech Spun....replace or rebuild?

Hi all,

I've not had any trouble out of this prop over the last 10 years until now. I've got a 10x11 SS Power Tech on my 25 HP Johnson. I've spun it and I need to know the best course of action...

Should I get it repaired, or replace it? The prop itself is in pretty good shape as far as I can tell. There are a few small nicks, but nothing major.

Any advice from the experts would be greatly appreciated.

there are others with more technical knowledge but my 64 years of boating says if aluminum replace it with new but
ss at least investigate a repair. I would assume a simple hub replacement would be the same as an aluminum.
If the blades require work the cost may warrant a replacement

I just checked with a boat place in Jasper, TX, that sends props to somewhere in Houston to get re-rubbered. He said that it would cost me $200 to get it done. Seems kinda steep to me, but I don't know.

Sounds like a lot to me. I never had a ss prop done but i din't see why a ss would be more than al unless the blades needed seriopus work. In that size I think a new ss prop might be less than 200.Though I can't speak for the Power Tech.
It's been years since I had a prop done but I think an al prop in that size would cost 40-60.

Thanks for the info. I ended up calling another place here locally and he quoted 80 bucks to ship it out and re-rubber it. Saved me a lot of $$!
