lubedude: Well how would you compare smoke elimination rating, and water toxicity lowering, and biodegradability, if we compare Saber 100:1 vs Injector 50:1 ?<br /><br />Tx

pecheux, go to the Amsoil website and read their tech reports on toxicity, and MSDS, etc.

I tried a gallon of Pennzoil full synthetic in my '83 Johnson V6 and couldn't tell any difference. I'm not doubting your experience at all and actually encourage everyone who's curious to try it. From what I read here it sounds like my experience is kind of unusual. Believe me, if my engine smoked and smelled less, I would gladly pay the price of the oil. I might even try another gallon when I burn up the Quicksilver and Castrol I got on sale last fall. I might buy a quart or two and try it trolling with my kicker - that would REALLY be worth it if it reduced smoking since the speeds are so slow and thus the smoke lingers around more than with the big engine.

D. : I guess basicaly that's my point. Tried the Amsoil Injector with some smoke reduction improvement. Havent tried the Saber 100:1 yet since it's hard to fing in my region and Amsoil dealers dont seem to push for it either ... maybe it's a sign I should consider ... LOL

This amsoil love fest is enought to make me puke.<br /><br />Lubedude, I would like to know how you determined this. "Use the Pennzoil brand full synthetic then, its TC-W3, but Amsoil has a better Base stock."<br />I havent played with saber and likely will not as there are no advantages to 100:1 mix ratios, but there are quit a few pitfalls. I will say that Amsoil HPI fared pretty poorly in comparision to amsoil HPI in a little informal test I ran in a two new Yamaha 30's. FWIW the test parameters were visable smoke, oder, plug deposits, piston crown deposits, port buildup and piston skirt deposits.<br /> I have been very happy with Yamalube as of late. Very clean burning and low smoke.<br />BTW I havent fouled a spark plug or had to de carb a motor in over four years of operating a fishing lodge. I have one Merc 20 that has the origianl plugs in and its going on 5 years old. Runs like a charm too. <br />Our motors also get more time in a year on them than most people put on in 20 years. We used Esso outboard for three years and are running Yamalube now with great results.

its a must that you do a THOROUGH decarb on your engine before switching to synthetic or your just wasting your money
