Question, anyone know what the compression ratio is on a 1986 omc 110 v4 , just curious, in the 1970's i had a 1966 289 hp ford engine 10.5 to 1 compression ratio, you never here waht they are for the 2 strokes! thanks

"Compression ratio" is rarely published for 2 stroke engines, Johnson.<br /><br />The reason is that only a portion of the cylinder displacement is actually used for compression. The rest is used for scavenging. The calculated "ratio" would have to include only the portion of the displacement used to compress and would appear to be very low compared to 4 stroke engines.

110,<br /><br />As JB stated.<br /><br />Your compression readings should be over 100 psi and even on all four cylinders.

I have a pair of 87s & my compression runs 105-110 psi.
