Re: 115 Ficht Exhaust sensor

Lower stb. side of the engine block. Follow the small hose from the engine's computer down to the fitting.

IF it hasn't been removed for cleaning every 100 hours as required, then it may be partially burned away or jammed in the housing with carbon. In extreme cases, you have to cut off the threads and carefully drill out the tube. Then remove the carbon. Use a 5/16" valve guide brush for cleaning out the cavity.

Re: 115 Ficht Exhaust sensor Seahorse

My engine keeps giving the barometric pressure sensor code. I went to clean the exhaust tube and I have the severe problem talked about in this post. I assume mine has never been cleaned because I tried to remove it and could only get it unthreaded. It would not pull out any farther. Can you get the the backside of this tube by removing the foot? What size drill bit do I need to use the drill out the tube? What if the excess tube or drill shavings get into the engine?
Thanks for the help!

Exhaust sensor jammed and stuck- Now what???

Exhaust sensor jammed and stuck- Now what???

2001 Evinrude Ficht 175 Twins on 252 Mako.
Tried to remove the exhaust pressure sensor from the block and now it is jammed/stuck. Should I use a hammer to tap it back into the block or cut it off and try to drill out like the post from Seahorse states? Please read my previous post listed below on this thread. Thanks for the help in advance!

Re: 115 Ficht Exhaust sensor

Thanks Muskrat. I will give that a try and hopefully salvage the season. Definitely want to replace the exhaust sensor in both engines this winter. Would still like any input on removing the sensor if carb spray does not work. I am really worried about breaking the sensor off in the block. Thanks in advance.
