115 Merc 4/S won't start

Hey guys-

My father has a 19 ft CC with a 115 Merc 4 Stroke (1995). Niether of us missed our callings as mechanics. Anyway, we're out for half a day - runs perfectly as usual- but after we bring in, shut it off, and try to restart it - nothing. Just a clicking noise; engine does not turn over. Battery is fully charged.

Also, we had the kids out and they used the potty in the Center console a bunch of times - thinking maybe one of them might have tugged on a wire or pulled something loose...

Any ideas? Thank you in advance!!!

You will have to connect a voltmeter on the starter post and click the switch if there is 12 volts there the starter is bad and if not the solenoid is bad
