JUST PURCHASED A 1975 TOWER OF POWER. HOW WILL THIS MOTOR DO TROLLING ? :confused: I REBUILT THE CARBS,NEW IMPELLER AND PLUGS. CHANGED THE OIL IN THE LOWER END AND INSTALLED A TROLLING PLATE. I WAS A LITTLE WORRIED ABOUT BUTING A MOTOR THIS OLD BUT THE PRICE WAS RIGHT. :p I'M INTO IT FOR LESS THAN $1900.00 NOW <br />THANK YOU ANY ADVISE WOULD BE GREAT

Find (search function) my timing and sync post on this forum for tuning musts - particularly if you want to troll.<br /><br />They are not a trolling motor but *will* troll if the idle needles are set right and provided the reed blocks aren't too worn. <br /><br />-W

Like Clams said, it will idle but it may not be the slowest idle. All depending on the reeds.

I hope you have good luck with it. I have a 1975 150 H.P. and I love it. It purs like a kitty cat and runs like a bat out of Hell. Thanks to clams. He is the man when it comes to the tower of power<br />you can take what he says to the bank.<br />Be sure and use plenty of good oil in the fuel and make sure it is the right prop so you don't lug or over rev it and you should be fine.<br />Be safe and enjoy your tower of power!!!
