115 Suzuki overheating/water pumping issues

I have a 2001 115 Suzuki with about 500 hours. Last year I opened it up full speed and it over heated. This spring I replaced the water pump, thermostat, both engine and lower until oil; the works. I ran it and noticed that if I run it over 5000 for more then a few mintues it stops peeing and when it does slowly start again it is HOT. I can put it in netural and rev it up and it starts peeing across the creek. Then I noticed that after slowing down off of a plan the pee slows down to a trickle and it is hot. I again rev it up and all is well.
Any thoughts out there? Other then that love the engine lots of torque, speed and power in this thing!

Your water pump may be sucking in air. Check the gasket around the sub water inlet tube, where it enters the cavitiy underneath the water pump. I just had to fix mine, because half of the rubber gasket around the tube was gone. Therefore, my water pump was sucking in air. You will have to remove the bottom of the water pump to gain access.

Makes since I thought about it sucking air but did not think about going below the water pump. I will do that this weekend,
