Hello,
I have a Yamaha 115TLRS that, on the surface, seems to be running fine. Plenty of oil being tranferred from reserve tank to main tank. Good water flow from pee hole. No high temps with laser spot-metering temperature.
Still, while trolling (800 RPM) yesterday, I had the pleasure of listening to that &*#%$ alarm for eight straight hours. I could shut the motor off for 3 mins. re-start w/ no alarm, but it would re-alarm in a minute or two.
Finally, when I stopped trolling and started heading home, I shut it down for a couple of minutes to clear the alarm, and then ran home at high speed (42-4300 RPM) with no fault and no alarm.
I have the Yamaha digital multifunction tach and speed. The speed doesn't work, but I suspect I squoze the pitot tube when I rewired under the console. The oil pointer on the tach is working fine. The only odd indicator I have is the digital speed voltage is reading 15.0 volts. The batteries in the boat did not get warm to the touch.
I could sure use a few pointers on where to start looking. I've read a few threads that discuss water sensors in fuel filters. Does my motor have such a critter? I've also read about alarms for low voltage. Is there a corresponding alarm for high voltage? Is there a code output somewhere that would help me narrow this down? I've got the Seloc manual and will look there as well. I can't find any technical info on the multifunction gauges. Any assistance would be most welcome.
Thanks!
