Ihave a 1976 115hp in-line 6 and have done quite a bit of work on it over the last few months..(impeller, carbs, plugs, rotor cap etc). Took it out today and it took about half hour to get started....you know, practically flood the thing, hold choke in and hope.

Well it ran well for a while, then a noise from inside the cowling and the engine died. The intake manifold blew a piece out of it around cyl 3 (as big as your thumb). Engine will still run in neutral (amazing) but not once in gear (of course).

So now.........do we throw it away and get a late model or is it worth buying a manifold and repairing the engine?

Anyone out there in Sydney selling a late model Merc?
