Re: 120 evinrude still acting up
Hey Im back agin. These local mechanics are driving me nuts. I took this thing to another local mech and he throws a OMC power pack on and says go try that, needless to say I tried it and went straight back and got my old pack back and here I am. I took my stator off and checked according to manual and its reading good no signs of melting either. I made the spark gap tester Joe Reeves suggested and a good 7/16 gap. I ran it on the hose today and it runs pretty good no spiting and spuddering . I did pull the plugs out and they were a little wet. I had also checked my primer today and it is fine no leak by. Currently I have
1 new CDI pack
1 new OMC timmerbase
Checked
primer OK
Fire OK 7/16 on all four
Compression good 115 to 130 PSI
Conditions
Want get on plane & sometimes rough idle
If i get towards front off boat it planes off but RPMS low at WOT 5000 max normal is 5800 at WOT
I was wandering about my carbs I rebuilt them when I rebuilt the engine could I have possibily gotton the two orfices in the wrong place The larger orfice is on the top Which the book calls it the idel mixture is that right would that be the larger orfice?
I know the floats are set according to the book. Holdig the chamber upside down with a straight edge across its about a 32nd gap.
Any Ideas ? I luv this stuff
Thanks
