What tool do you use to keep the flywheel from spinning when you try removing the nut from the top of the flywhee l (the 1 & 1/16 nut that holds it down)? I can't find a spanner wrench big enough. I see lots of notes about pulling the wheel off with a harmonic balancer tool but I can't even get that far!

Use a BIG screwdriver.Pull up the starter drive gear.Wedge it between the teeth and the wheel. Then a big socket or a wrench.
Best way is.I use an impact wrench.Much easier.Just be REAL careful.
http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=558525 see this.

Then a big 3 jaw puller.See other posts.

Worked perfectly! The 3 jaw puller - I used the biggest I could find and it was barely enough - but when it came off, it flew! Landed on the top of my foot, hurts! Thanks again for the tips.
