(1985 1258x5a) I have a slow drip from weep hole by lower unit bolt. Not gassy smelling at all. Thick sticky, black oil. Not a lot, a teaspoon or so in a week. Happened after I changed lower unit oil last week. Only drips in 45 degree position up on transom bracket. If its a seal, can it wait until fall as long as I make sure lower unit is full? I didn't see ant evidence of water in lower unit oil when I changed it last week.
Thanks, Eric

Probably the residue of unburnt oil/gas dripping from the exhaust.
If the oil is clean and no water then go boating.J

Thanks, it doesn't really have the same smell as what I would take to be lower unit oil. Thanks again! Eric
