I?m in the midst of trying to rebuild the two carburetors on my 1987 Force 125HP and have two questions:

1. How is the bypass tube No. 51 connected to the carb (see attached diagram). I?m trying to remove it. The diagram indicates that it is inserted from the top, but it is not clear how it is fastened ? e.g., is it threaded in, interference fit? I?ve tried to tap it upward and turn it, but it?s not moving. If I knew how it was installed, I?d be inclined to use more force.

2. When attempting to remove those little brass plugs/caps (e.g. No. 48), I pushed a couple inside the passageway they were plugging. Any suggestions for extracting them?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Yes, that tube is the low speed circuit feed tube and it does push in from the top of the carb. It is swaged slightly wider on top so it is an interference fit. You should be able to push it out from the bottom.

As for the brass plugs, difficult. you can try drilling with a fine bit then threading a small screw into them and pull out.
