There is a purple wire in the harness where does in connect to
The purple wire on the engine side of the harness where it is connected says generator but the other side of the harness it is not connected. Could this wire need connected to the battery so it will charge the battery when it is running

The purple wire on my 88/85 goes to the tach.
Under the dash I believe they us e the purple as a power lead???
The grey also can be a tach lead???

Re: 130 hp chrysler purple wire

It depends upon the year of your Chrysler: If it has Prestolite ignition the purple is used for tach signal. If it has Magna-power ignition with the motorola CD box it is not used. If it has Magna-Power II it is again tach signal.
