1986 140hp Evinrude
Idle was fine for the last use in the fall. Did have a stalling on acceleration problem, but discovered a kink in one of the carb fuel delivery hoses so assume that was the stall issue.
Pulled the boat out of winter storage today. Replaced the kinked carb hose and started it up. It started up fine and ran good, however, the idle just kept creeping up and finally topped out at 2200 rpm (on the flushette/hose).
Checked all the fuel connections were tight, checked all the low/intermediate carb air jets weren't plugged, checked the carb floats were set ok.....still 2200 rpm idle.
Hoping the lakes will lose the ice in the next week so I can pop it in the water and see what idle is with some back pressure....but 2200 on the muffs seems way high....I was getting nervous just listening to it!!!
Any suggestions??
