The guy i bought my boat from put an alpha one outdrive, from a mercruiser 140..... on a mercruiser 120 engine.... that was from 1982 (assuming it wasnt an alpha 1)

The mechanic that did the switch said it was more heavy duty and shouldn't have any problems. It runs and shifts great, but im anal about EVERYTHING and just want to make sure.
