Hi, I have a 2006 150 EFI, I just bought the boat. I took it out and noticed the volts meter on the helm was reading about 11.5 volts. Long story short boat wouldn't start at the end of day. Brought it home boosted it and checked voltage with meter. Was about 11.5. Thought alternator was done. Took it in today and tested fine. Started to trouble shoot problem. I found that the fuse between the alternator and the wire to the starting solenoid was blown. Its cased in a hard plastic for protection. Its a 100amp mega fuse from what I can find on it. I will have to wait till tomorrow to see if I can find one. What I'm worried about is changing it and it blows again. The boat seems to work fine electrically. There is no big sparks when I connect the battery leads up. Is it possible the fuse just went. The boat only has about 10 hours on it. Just looking for some advice on this. I just hope its a fuse and nothing more, but something had to happen to blow it. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Have you got a onboard charger? If so it may have popped fuse along with jumping a battery, reversing leads or the alternater not grounded.

I do have an onboard charger but it only charges my trolling motor batteries. The starting battery is on its own. Thanks
