Bent my skeg today whats the best way to straighten it back out without breaking it'

Get two 2x4's about 4 ft long and a friend. Have him hold one on the unbent side for backing. Then start whacking the bent side with the other one. Take it easy and you may get it.

I use a similar technique but I take two 2x4s and c clamp and slowly tighten the clamp until it straightens out.

They can break but if your slow and careful you have a chance. If its only bent a little bit just use it the way it is. Often not a big deal to just let it go.

Ive broken a few during my learning days but I learned to slow down take my time. Fyi heating it up wont help you at all.

With the two 2x4 and C clamps and a little help from my wife I got it almost straight witout breaking it THANKS for the help guys.

Look up Bob's Machine shop he has replacement stuff.
