15HP Montgomery Ward Sea King pull start disassembly and repair

I have a 15hp Sea King made by Force and manufactured by Montgomery Ward. I have had many troubles with it since I bought it used a month ago. It ran for a few weeks then started to cut out on me while running. I spend more time trying to keep it going than I do on the water :facepalm: I did some tune up work (sparks, fuel diaphragm, impeller, hoses.) but I am still running into trouble keeping it started. Now today I pulled to start it and the pulley broke. Is it the spring? Can anyone help me with disassembling it so I can figure out how to get to the spring or whatever the problem is? Here is the mod: vwb 52122 and ser: 58x 1281. Thanks in advance!

Just start taking it apart.
There is a pin that goes through the side/center it needs to be pushed out.
Get the parts diagram.

Owing a manual is important. Plus, some good Pics of the starter would probably trigger some past tips. If all fails, is there an option to add a simple rope start that you wind (until you understand re-winding the spring). You?ll notice that in one post below a fellow became upset due to no help. Then! He figured how to un-winding and winding in :20 minutes. This makes a big point true or not, ?You Need To Dig Deep From References And Study Before Asking For Help?. It Comes To Money Over Time And No Harm Intended. Good Luck! I?ll jump in if I see I can help.

PS. I have spent too much time avoiding purchasing small 2-cycle recoil jigs (vs my own jigs) due to one-time use in most cases.
