this is the setup i'm talking about:<br />1971 winner 17' about 1500lbs<br />1974 evi 50 hp <br />comp 160/160psi<br /> http://groups.msn.com/outboardpictures/shoebox.msnw?action=ShowPhoto&PhotoID=17 <br /><br />currently it has a 13 3/4X15 and reaches about 5000 rpms with 2 guys and equipment.<br /><br />i have the dual fins on the antiventilationplate for better lift.<br /><br />the antiventilationplate is a little above the bottem of the hull.<br /><br />if i drive the boat myself 170lbs and no stuff i reach 5600 rpms with a little chop.<br /><br />my qusetion is will a 14X13 raise the rpms without loosing too much speed?<br />so it will turn into a barge?<br /><br />thanks reeldutch

It will raise the RPM's, most likely, and maybe perform a little better when the boat's loaded. I doubt if it will overspeed when there's a light load.<br /><br />That is assuming that the two props are similar in design and materials.<br /><br />Edit your topic title, and Dhadley will probably be along to provide better information than I can give you.
