Hey guys This thing is driving me crazy hope some one here can help on this one . I have narrowed it down to a vac leak in my stbd. side manifold gasket that giving me the bad idle I think . I found out by putting a toothpick in the air jet and she smooth out for me . when I take the tooth pick out it idle rough again . I figure it not the carbs because I swap it with a other carb on the port side and I still need the pick on the stbd bottom carb side , I also did a check on the recir system as per the service manual I just received , it tells you to pull off the hose from the cyl side of the recir hose and put in in a cup of water and if it bubbles it ok .Well both of the top cyl did not bubble but the other 4 cyl did . I notice that one side had a black manifold gasket on the stbd. side that I need the tooth pick to run . The port side had a tan gasket that look much thicker then the black one on the stbd side . It also looks like the manifold is a little buckle near the edge in places on the stbd side ( plastic crap ) . Any rebuilders here that can give me any advise what to look for when I take off the manifolds . And if I have a air leak why would it only effect the 2 top cyl recir hoses and bottom port carb ? Thanks for all your help on this one ! JJb
