I got myself some 30:1 premix. pored it into the spark plugs, and gave it a couple light pulls then some good pulls. Then I put the plug back in, Borrowed my boats gas tank and hose, pumped up the thing, and gave it some pulls.

..and some coughing, but nothing.

Played with the adjustable jet, and got it running, but crappy.

Played with it some more and shes purring like a kitten now.

....and! I did another compression check, 120psi (exactly) on both cylinders.

For those that said this is a old beat up pile of crap and I should scrap it, HA!

- actually you were right, it is old and beat up.

Good day in my outboard world.

On another note, the lady I rent a room & garage from went in there last night and saw how many outboards I have. She's pissed I'm bringing 'junk' here.

...time to move

I said she looked beat up, so do a compression check. I never said anything about junking it. I like em a little beat up!

Good news, and great compression news!
I'll bet it does run nice. You can always fix the "beat upness" with a little spray paint if it bothers you. I have painted quite a few, but have lately decided I like having 'em look a little used but running perfect. I like to go to the launch when it's cold out and the local fellows are jerking the poop out of their new motors while I casually fire up my old '57 with one pull. The looks they give are priceless!;):D
Enjoy!

So I dawned on me, there is no way to shut off the engine!

So. My 93 Johnrude had a stop button on the side. This maybe had it on the front?

On a side note, I bought some Outboard johnson matched paint and cleaned it up a bit (not done yet) Its looks great in person:

Yes your kill button is missing, thats what the empty connectors go to in the sixth photo of your origional post. I'm sure you can pick one up somewhere either new or used. in the mean time I never met a motor that wouldnt shut down when you turned the throttle all the way down. Ronnie
