I just found an old 1938 Sears Water Witch 3/4 HP. Still has spark and a little bit of compression and no rust in the tank. I couldn't believe it! The man who owned it kept in the basement for years.
Can any one share some info about this motor?
I couldn't find much about it on the internet.

What I'm curious about is the little push-in button on the "throttle".
Is that the choke? Or an early stop button.

Here's a pic of that button.

Looks like I got a winter project.

There are people over at the Antique Outboard Motor Club that can answer all your questions. I've seen those motors at meets but know nothing about them except is is sort of a joke that none has ever been seen actually running. I dunno, sounds like a challenge. Oh, I think that is called a Mae West gas tank.

Check in at www.aomci.org Heck, join the club, they have a Waterwitch Special Interest Group. And good fellowship and national/local meets. Beware, you may get hooked.

The little button is most likely a kill switch.

Old thread yes, but can someone tell me what model carburetor is on these and whether there is an on-line site where I can get some pics of rebuilding one?
