I am re-creating this post as the original had to be deleted due to a mistake I made when registering. There were 2 replies to the original post so I'm hoping those people will again respond.
I have a TD20 that I inherited from my father who bought it new and told me it was a 1945 motor.
I have the original 'General Instructions' (User manual), brochure #301453, which tells me it is a 5 HP. Serial # is 525 8J (the J could be an i).
The motor has the original paint and decals and is silver in colour.
The motor is all original and has never had the points, condenser, etc. replaced and yes, it still runs. Used it this year for bass fishing.
When I look at the forums I don't see a 5 HP listed and the colour of the motors appears to be 'green'.
I am thinking of getting the service manual for the motor to do maintenance and I'm not certain how much difference a year would make.
I'm also a little reluctant to take apart something that isn't broken (if it ain't broke don't fix it!).
Any help would be appreciated.
