Re: 1954 Deep C ?

Nice boats...especially on today's over-churned lakes!

My quick catalog research shows the Deep C was first offered in 1957 and were still in the line in 1959--perhaps longer. In 1957 they had four models...the Deep C (covered bow), the Open C (more of a bigger lake fishing boat with no bow cover and tiller steering), and the Super C and Super CS (covered bows, rear steering, pass thru center deck, windwhields, upholstery, etc.).

I am assuming you have the classic Deep C which also could be ordered painted (like the Super C series), with a convertible top, windshield, steering wheel and running lights. 60 hp was what all but the Open C were rated for....Big power in those days.

AlumaCraft did not put weight ratings in their catalogs, at least--they deferred to the prudent user as to the proper carrying capacities. These are heavy duty boats...And, I understand from an owner that properly powered and trimmed they are pretty fast, too. Good for water skiing/tubing, inland lake fishing or cruising...Enjoy.

Re: 1954 Deep C ?

The boat at one time had the windshield, steering wheel and cable steering system. My title says 1954, it has the closed bow. It is in great shape the only modification was the transom for a long shaft motor.

I have rebuilt the trailer, setting the boat up with steering and a Johnson 28hp outboard. All my modifications are removable without alteration to the boat.

It has one small dent which I will remove everything else is great.

looking for original parts and info would appreciate e mails, PDFs or fax

Thanks

Re: 1954 Deep C ?

I have a 1958 deep c, when I bought it the registration said 1965. So I contacted alumacraft and they said the deep c was only made between 1957 and 1961, they also e-mailed me copies of brouchures from those years so I could figure out what year it was. Mine has the steering and controls on the left side. I too would also be courious how many are still around?

Re: 1954 Deep C ?

cowboycurtis, You mentioned they emailed you some brochures, any chance there are any pictures of a Deep c with the top on? I am trying to get a feel as to what our boat is going to look like and how much work I have to get it back to looking good. Did they list any color codes for the paint? I'm new at this so I have lots of questions. If I get annoying just let me know.

Re: 1954 Deep C ?

I never get annoyed talking about the deep c. From what I can tell there aren't many out there. The brochures they e-mailed me were in black and white so they would'nt help with color. I would first try contacting Alumacraft via e-mail or by phone, they were more than helpful. In the mean time take a look at theclassicboathouse.com/alumacraftad58.html it has a picture of one with the top up! I hope this helps.

Re: 1954 Deep C ?

we did contact alumacraft, they sent us one picture with the top down. Not sure if they are running full staff with all the boat companies cutting back so much. Thanks for the link, it's a start anyway. I'm glad I signed up here, seems to be plenty of info. and good folks around.
