Re: 1954 Deep C ?
Nice boats...especially on today's over-churned lakes!
My quick catalog research shows the Deep C was first offered in 1957 and were still in the line in 1959--perhaps longer. In 1957 they had four models...the Deep C (covered bow), the Open C (more of a bigger lake fishing boat with no bow cover and tiller steering), and the Super C and Super CS (covered bows, rear steering, pass thru center deck, windwhields, upholstery, etc.).
I am assuming you have the classic Deep C which also could be ordered painted (like the Super C series), with a convertible top, windshield, steering wheel and running lights. 60 hp was what all but the Open C were rated for....Big power in those days.
AlumaCraft did not put weight ratings in their catalogs, at least--they deferred to the prudent user as to the proper carrying capacities. These are heavy duty boats...And, I understand from an owner that properly powered and trimmed they are pretty fast, too. Good for water skiing/tubing, inland lake fishing or cruising...Enjoy.
