When I took the lower unit off, the Exhaust Loading Tube Assembly (Part #376330) fell out of the upper unit onto the garage floor. I had no idea where it came from until I got a parts list which shows it being part of the Power Head (I think) and it shows it being screwed in from the top. What do I do to put it back on? Do I access it through the Lower Unit or take the Power Head apart? Also what does it do? Thanks in advance for any help you can give me.

It is screwed to the upper end of the exhaust housing casting. It's sort of a silencer thing. You would have to remove the powerhead to put it back. I'm sort of surprised that it got out of there. But I guess it's possible after only 52 years.

Thanks for the fast response. Is it something I need to put back on or can I leave it off? Also, something I forgot to mention, when I ran the engine after putting it back together, there was not any water coming out of the back of the engine. There was water coming out before I took it apart. I thought that this part has something to do with that.

Actually, I was pondering that question. Can't decide if it would have any effect on water discharge or not. But that thing didn't come unscrewed and just jump out of there all of a sudden. It must have been loose and rattleing around in there for awhile.
