Evinrude, Johnson and Gale motors are all very similar, at least in that horsepower range. That's why it is so easy to swap parts back and forth. Tashasdaddy spotted the same thing I did when I guessed it to be a 1958...the fuel pump mounting bosses.
I wouldn't go so far as to declare it "crap". Go ahead and assume it is a '58 RDE and fix it up. You can use that service manual as a "close enough". There are only a few parts that varied from year to year anyway. Better yet, if you want to do a restoration, call it a '57 Javelin. They are worth more.
