http://www.laingsoutboards.com/ for your parts. My dealer is reasonable sorry to hear your's is not. I would first clean up the head and the block and put it back together to see what compression you have with a new head gasket. A decarb may yet free the rings. The cylinders look fine. The top cylinder is heavily carboned and there may be some carbon under the compression relief valve causing low compression. Also you can see where the gasket has been leaking on both, but more so on the upper. A new head gasket is under 20 dollars and I myself would try that first. The compression relief valves are there when using the pull start feature. There is a flat bar that runs from the recoil to a rod on the head. The bar turns the rod and the rod pushed the springs in opening the relief valves. This gives you lower compression so it is easier to pull start. I have taken mine off as they are easy enough to start for me without the release.

Thanks Freddieray. The rod you speak of has obviously been removed from mine as well. Guess that's why my shoulder hurts so bad..... :)

I'm still trying to obtain the part numbers for those gaskets. Here's a partial list of what I have so far. Can someone verify they are correct?

Head Gasket- OMC 304720 Sierra 18-2951
Bypass Cover Gasket- OMC 304784
Tune UP- Points- 580148 Condensors- 580321

I still need a part number for the Exhaust Cover Gasket if anyone can help with that. Also, will a parts manual for the RDE-19 model cover most all my needs with this RJE-19 model? Thanks again guys!!!!.................... ALAN

the two motors are the same. the cowlling was the only difference in them that I am aware of for all intensive purposes.
