My motor has an "M" in the model number.....RDE-19 M? What does the "M" stand for?

The "M" denotes a mid-year change. It has no meaning in regards to model identification.

That is an awesome motor. I have the same exact one. Not in that good of shape though.

Hey Jack....what kind of paint did you use for this restoration? Can you share the paint code for the maroon Johnson color?

You can get the paint along with decals, medallions and other misc. parts from http://www.nymarine.ca . The paint is a bit pricey I'll grant ya but the colors are right. Check out the link to pictures of painted motors for a bit of inspiration. I don't have any idea where one could find the paint codes for these old colors. I mean obviously the gentleman at nymarine found them or duplicated them somehow but I don't know where to find them.

I know this is an old thread, but the only comment I would make is that the air box and the recoil should also be holiday bronze. The white recoil and airbox came off of a 57 Javelin.
