It might be worth the $. You will have to see it and check it out thoroughly. Condition is everything. Make sure you check the compression and lower unit function. If either of these is bad then the motor isn't worth $100 around here. If the motor is complete, functioning and the paint/decals are in nice condition then it may be worth the $150. Keep in mind that it costs about $150 in parts to do a complete tune-up on that motor.

Also don't be surprised if its not a 1958 18hp. My experience with motors that old is that the owner seldom has the right year and sometimes hp.

I got the motor started, But the carb is having trouble I put gas in by the reeds and fired right up the carb is not getting the fuel after I put the lower piece on I blew into it and was clean but not getting the fuel.
looks like I am flooded

woooooo!!!! finally I fiquired it out (I had the float) upside down and hopefully it will start for me now.
