1958 Evinrude Lightwin

Can anyone give me an honest value on a 1958 Evinrude Lightwin 3hp....My uncle recently passed away and my aunt is being hounded about this motor...She does not want to get the raw end of the deal and asked if i could help her out...The motor is in excelent condition...Model #3026



Any help would be appreciated thanks in advance

Does it run? If so, several hundred, if not ~ $50.

yes.It runs perfectly...My uncle took very good care of it.....Motor looks new....Several hundred?....She was offered $400 is that about right or low?

Take it and run. Antique runners (and yours is not antique yet) seldom bring more than $250, fully restored runners 600 to $800. Whoever offered $400 doesn't know that market, but so what. My cousin just bought a 1941 Evinrude Zephyr (a runner) in immaculate condition (but not museum quality restoration) for $250 from a guy who does restorations and knows the market.

Ditto...that's a nice price for that motor, as it's pretty common.

Take it quick - I've completely restored one of those (1960), painted, new decals, tune-up, carb rebuild, etc. and got considerably less than that for it.

I wouldn't personally give more than 250 for a proven runner. 50 bucks otherwise, if not frozen up.

I've got a couple that I hope to bring $350 each in near mint condition. Take the $400!
