Does anyone know where i may be able to locate a lower gearcase seal kit for this engine? I have already looked on nymarine, ebay, and marine engine has all the individual gaskets seals and o rings, but i was hoping to find a complete kit. If worse comes to worse i guess i could just replace the spaghetti gasket and the oil retaining seal.......... speaking of which, does anyone have any tricks as to how to remove the seals from the oil retaining housing without breaking the housing? I have done these before on the larks, and i always end up having to buy a new housing because i always break it. Thanks everyone

To my knowledge, there is no such thing as a seal kit for that one, unless somebody may be putting a kit together. Otherwise, you just have to buy individual parts.

EDIT: One way to get stubborn seals out safely is to use a Dremel tool. Cut a slot in one side of the seal, stopping when you are paper-thin from the housing. Now collapse the seal and it will fall out.

Another way, on the prop shaft seal, is put it in a metal lathe and cut it out. Piece of cake if you have a lathe, or know somebody.

Awesome idea! Sounds like that would work nice for getting out an upper crank seal as well, and as for the seal kit.. it is a shame that i cant find a kit for a fat 50, i found it is about 10X easier for me to find parts for my 59 lark than it is for these old starflites, but it is what it is i suppose, looks like i will be getting an oil retaining gasket and a spaghetti gasket

might post your general location/region, and listers might come up with specific leads for sources.
