Lots going on here- But SLOWLY... Most of the hardware is mounted, but, most importantly, I got the motor running!

I rebuilt the carb and fuel pump, and after some playing and tinkering, she fired right up. That motor has been in storage for 10-15 years, and was only used a few weeks a year before that, since it 'lived' at a vacation cottage. For it's age, it is in incredible shape, and the compression is well over 100 in both cylinders. It's going to look good on there, too :)

Having the motor up and running is great- One less thing to worry about. I have two of these motors- Both of them 'ran great when we used them last', but we all know how THAT goes...

I decided to drop it on the transom, to see how it all looked, and make sure it fit right-

I think it looks like it belongs there- Perfect 50's styling. I've got to install the electrical panel, and then do the steering, and the controls.

The dash is almost done, and turned out pretty decent-

I need to find a center cap for the steering wheel. Everything on there is NEW, 1950's or 60's vintage hardware. I've gradually acquired it from various sources over the past few years.

She might even see the water this year for a test float! Hopefully next week sometime I'll get to splash her, at least for a few minutes. I'm coming up on ONE YEAR of work now, but it has been such a busy year it has flown by!

You should be right proud....she looks fantastic!

Like the way the windshield almost has a pinkish hue due to the reflection...

Motor sounds good and she looks beyond ready for the water.

Good luck on the splash.

It looks fabulous Andrew!! We had a 35 Lark on the back of ours too ... looks perfect to the boat style. Hope the splash goes well! Weather is cooperating right now for sure.

Thanks! This has been a FUN one :)

It's hard to believe this is the same boat that I pulled out of the weeds...

She looks a little different now than a year ago.

I'm really starting to get the 'itch' now- And it's not from fiberglass dust this time!

I wanted to test out the trailer with the 'full load' of the boat and motor... The motor install is almost done, just needs final wiring, then it's pretty much good to go. I ran the control cables, and mounted the shift box. I have all the parts for the steering system now, too- And some rare spare time this weekend since the wife and baby are out of town, so HOPEFULLY I'll get it all rigged.

While we were out, I took a quick trip to the county park about a mile from my house. It's where I launch my boats from, and it's a pretty nice place! I took some quick photos while I was there-

I might be a little biased, But I think she's a pretty boat! I can tell you that if you are the type of person that likes to be left alone, DO NOT try to go anywhere with a boat like this- It attracts a LOT of attention!

I am shooting for next weekend to splash- I would be tempted to do it this weekend, but the county fair is held in the park, and it'll be BUSY... I don't like large audiences on splash day, Just in case :)
