Hello could anyone tell me if a *1960 Evinrude twinsport model 10020 has a long or short shaft ? A fellow has one for sale that I'm interested I in purchasing and he doesn't know how to measure the shaft and he is a couple hours away.

Thanks in advance for any info

They had 2 models that year 1 was 10020 the other was 10021. My thought would be the 10020 was the short shaft model. If he has a picture it is easy to tell which one by looking for the 5inch extension just above the gearcase.

That looks like a nice looking short shaft motor. If he can measure from the inside of the transom bracket where it is on the dolly until the plate just above the prop. 17inch or so for short and around 22inch for long.

Short shaft. No extension in the mid.

And it's Sportwin, not Twinsport....

Sorry, didn't mean for that to sound curt. Just that if someone else is searching for info on their own Sportwin, your thread would not come up...

Thanks for the info hardwater fisherman, the guy says he has owned the motor since new and last used it in June.. does $200 sound like a deal for that motor with a newer hose and tank?

I guess it depends where you live. Maybe some people would tell you is too much. Where I live people ask more than that for a non running motor.
