Boy oh oh boy, is this one a pain to find any info on. It is off my 71 Silverline refurb project (and is on several other vintage boats from this time period from what I gather). I contacted Taylor Made and it was produced in the 60's and they had no info for me, surprise. LOL It is the mechanical cable controlled model (not the hand held or the police style handle). The base is kind of a diamond shaped look to it. Roughly 5" long by a couple inches wide.

I've been searching high and low for the actual control cable for this thing for several days, to no avail. I did manage to find a good part number for the light bulb, couldn't believe still in the market. Does anyone have info on who might carry such a thing? From what I gather it basically just turns the spotlight left and right. It may also control the up and down motion, but not positive about that.

I have seen full assemblies but not paying from 250-400 bucks for the thing because it has "vintage" in front of the model. LOL I have looked at numerous mechanical cable control companies, but mainly just push-pull style of cable. Nothing that resembles this style for the spotlight. Or they have remote controlled/wire controlled spotlights.

Thanks in advance for the help.

If you're looking for ideas, add a couple of pics. We are an ingenious bunch when we can see what you have.

I would post a pic if I had one. When I got the boat it didn't have the cable for the spotlight. Worse case, I reinstall the spotlight and work it by hand, if needed, but it'd be a pain in the arse, though. LOL

I'll get a pic of the spotlight tomorrow when I am on the boat again. Have one electrical issue that i need to deal with and all will be good there......nothing major, just the switch for the instrument lights blowing fuse.......easy find and fix I am sure. LOL

Here's the best pic I could get for the spotlight, without taking it apart. The lens is spring loaded, so now thinking it also gets adjusted by that control cable.

I have a ‘64 Hydrodyne and it has the same light and it is fully functional. The cable does control the up/down as well as rotation. I will try to get some pics of mine next time I am down with the boat. From memory, it is a rather thick cable/sheath going up to the light (at least 1/2”). Other than pics, not sure how much help I can be.

This is a year old thread and has gone inactive. Not even sure if MT is still loking.
