I just ran across the Owner's Manual from my dad's old 1961 75 HP Evinrude Starflite III. This isn't a service manual, so it's more of a fun/nostalgia item than anything likely to provide useful maintenance or repair information. It does have a Standard Marine prop selection chart tucked into it though. It's in really good shape and I'd love to sell it to someone who'd appeciate it.

Early on someone was talking aboat the automatic choke system. I've got a 1963 Starflite five it was the last year that they used the engine hot water to regulate the choke system. 1964 they went to hot air. The auto choke is a bimetal spring that reacts to temp like the old auto carbs use to use. The hotter the water the more the choke opens.

Hello !

I know this topic is a bit old now, but i'd be really interested in the manual as well!
I have an Evinrude Straflite III 75hp, and if i'm not wrong it's from 1961 too !
I'm not a mechanic, but i'd like to give it a try in bringing this motor back to life !
I'll also create a new topic about it because I'll might need any information I could get about it
