This question is regarding a 1961 evinrude 75 HP serial number 03158 ,model number50927. Should the throttle control located at the helm cause the throttle to advance to it’s stop when the engine is not running or does the engine need to be running for this to happen. I can manually open and close the throttle at the carb. while the engine is off.The control works fine when it is disconnected from the engine so the control is working well. All appears to be in order but as this engine is new to me I would rather know as opposed to guess. I have the” Seloc” manual and this does not appear to be addressed in it. I realize that there is distributor advance mechanisms to be taken into consideration and I guess that is why I am a little puzzled.<br />Thanks, Jerome
